Without that chance encounter, I probably would never have met this friend. We had known each other since the time when I roamed around fairgrounds with my camera, photographing rides as they were being set up. We shared that hobby back then, and even though our passion for fairgrounds faded somewhat, we always stayed in touch and continued to share parts of our lives with each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He always raved to me about his RC trucks, and we occasionally met up at a supermarket parking lot to take pictures of his models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But then, in March 2024, it finally happened. He told me that the ESV Blau-Gold club in Bischofsheim was having a driving event on their own grounds in April, and he needed someone to drive his models. I simply couldn’t say no, and we agreed that I could practice at home beforehand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n He even lent me two models\u2014an MAN articulated truck and a forklift\u2014for practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just a quick note from me: Please be understanding if a headlight isn’t working on one of the model vehicles; it’s just like in real life, things can break down.
